My name is Tifanni Kenny and I am a local Ottawa actress. I’ve been a part of Odyssey Showcase since 2014 as part of Canada Roars: A Musical Taste of Our Canadian Heritage, Canada Speaks and The Gift of Jazz where I portrayed the iconic Harriet Tubman and Mary Ann Shadd Cary.
I’ve enjoyed being a part of Odyssey Showcase for the entertainment and the sharing of knowledge they provide to the public on Canadian history. The history I’ve learned portraying multiple characters has opened my mind to explore more about Canadian history and its content.
It is important for me to be a member on the advisory board to explore different facets of our shared history: Canadian music, language, fashion, agriculture, and how anything and everything can not only be represented historically but also from an artistic perspective. I feel that there is a lot more to be said about Canada, and holding this new role allows me to contribute to this great way of showcasing and preserving Canadian history through music, song, and dance.
Odyssey Showcase acknowledges that the land on which we gather in Ottawa is the traditional unceded territory of the Algonquin Anishinaabe people who have lived on this land since time immemorial.
Odyssey Showcase gratefully acknowledges the support of our funding partners.
