Odyssey Showcase 25th Anniversary: In October 2024, Mayor Mark Sutcliffe on behalf of the City of Ottawa, presented Odyssey Showcase with an award in celebration of Odyssey Showcases 25th anniversary, recognizing its work creating, producing and presenting educational, multicultural, live and theatrical performances.
“Since 2000, Odyssey Showcase has played an important role educating and entertaining student and broader audiences with bilingual, inclusive and barrier-free productions showcasing a diversity of artists and telling Canada’s social, political and cultural history through a wide host of artistic mediums.
Odyssey Showcase has also demonstrated innovation with the creation of online learning modules that illustrate diverse Canadian experiences. The launch of Justice on Tap/Justice de cabaret, a six-part anti-racism educational web series, and part of a larger project, Canada Speaks in Diverse Ways/Les voix du patrimoine.Aki animitagozig, will serve as a compelling feature for Canada History Week in November.”

Odyssey Showcase 20th Anniversary: At our 20th anniversary fundraiser at the Ottawa Art Gallery Odyssey Showcase was presented with another award from the City of Ottawa for distinguishing itself: “As a charitable organization dedicated to advancing education, through the presentation of performing arts productions highlighting Canada’s rich and diverse history, culture and heritage…The team behind Odyssey Showcase also merits accolades for its contribution to instilling pride in Canada’s progress, values and achievements.”
Odyssey Showcase 15th Anniversary: In 2015, the Mayor and City Councillors of Ottawa awarded Odyssey Showcase and our primary sponsor TD Bank Group a bilingual congratulatory certificate: “in recognition of the celebration of its 15th Anniversary producing CANADA ROARS: A Musical Taste of Our Canadian Heritage, a premiere presentation of the roots and development of Canada’s rich and diverse heritage on stage” going on to note that the annual production ” has distinguished itself as Canada’s longest-running, bilingual musical show, with an all-star Canadian cast, which celebrates key social and cultural transformations in history that have contributed to the building of contemporary Canada.”
