Justice on Tap\/Justice de Cabaret est une s\u00e9rie Web \u00e9ducative en six parties sur la lutte contre le racisme, qui fait partie d'un projet plus vaste : Canada Speaks in Diverse Ways \/ Les voix du patrimoine \/ Aki Animitagozig qui pr\u00e9sentera diverses exp\u00e9riences et histoires canadiennes par le biais de la narration, de la musique, de la danse, de la langue, de costumes, de la loi et plus encore. \u201c\u00c0 notre arriv\u00e9e au c\u0153ur d\u2019Ottawa, nous avons \u00e9t\u00e9 accueillis par un gentilhomme qui nous a guid\u00e9 au Th\u00e9\u00e2tre Cour des Arts tout en nous expliquant les lieux. Apr\u00e8s avoir \u00e9t\u00e9 bien install\u00e9s en salle, nous avons \u00e9t\u00e9 t\u00e9moins d\u2019un th\u00e9\u00e2tre musical inoubliable.<\/p>

On a chant\u00e9 et on a dans\u00e9 gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 la dynamique du spectacle qui nous a permis de vivre des exp\u00e9riences historiques et \u00e9tonnantes... Faut se laisser guider par la musique jazz et apprendre sur l\u2019histoire des Canadiens noirs qui s\u2019\u00e9tend sur quatre cents ans et englobe l\u2019esclavage, son abolition, la s\u00e9gr\u00e9gation et le mouvement des droits civiques.<\/p>

Les personnages ont pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 la musique jazz au service de l\u2019histoire des noirs en fran\u00e7ais et en anglais. Et comme enseignante d\u2019histoire du Canada, cela m\u2019a fait un grand plaisir parce que je pr\u00e9vois, l\u2019ann\u00e9e prochaine de sortir mes \u00e9l\u00e8ves d\u2019immersion et fran\u00e7ais de base de la salle de classe pour y vivre cette exp\u00e9rience bilingue. Parce que le spectacle repr\u00e9sente une bonne partie de l'identit\u00e9 canadienne, qui doit \u00eatre \u00e9tudi\u00e9e et analys\u00e9e selon les objectifs du programme du minist\u00e8re de l'\u00e9ducation de l'Ontario.<\/p>

Odyssey Showcase, \u00e0 l\u2019occasion du Mois de l\u2019histoire des Noirs, a soulign\u00e9 la contribution \u00e0 la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 de grands personnages de la communaut\u00e9 afro-canadienne; des hommes et des femmes qui ont marqu\u00e9 l\u2019histoire du pays. \u201cWhen we arrived at the venue, the staff were very welcoming and informative. This bilingual event had an awesome lineup of performances showcasing black culture infused with historical events in the form of short vignettes from the Odyssey Showcase\u2019s six-part anti-racism educational video series which is easily accessible from their website.<\/p>

The seasoned musicians were exceptionally good, and the singers wowed us with the beautiful tone of their voices, song after song. They truly captivated their audience and involved the spectators\u2019 multiple times by having them dance on the main stage with them.<\/p>

The post\/after learning activities were also perfect for Black History Month. JustJamaal The Poet and Wise Atangana effectively commanded their audience's attention. Our students were completely engaged the entire time and were encouraged to contribute and speak. What a spectacular show! It truly encompassed all three E\u2019s: engaging, entertaining, and educational. From start to finish, the experience was a perfect 10\/10.<\/p>

The online materials available to teachers and students prior to the show were clear, engaging, and insightful. They sparked meaningful classroom conversations and allowed our students to connect with the content on a deeper level. It was evident that the organizers put thought into making these resources both accessible and impactful.<\/p>

The organization of the event was flawless. From our arrival at the venue to the actual performance and designated lunch area, everything ran smoothly. A standout moment for our students was the interactive session that took place after lunch. They had the incredible opportunity to learn directly from some of the performers, who were not only captivating but also engaged our students in a way that left a lasting impression. Even now, over a month later, our students are still discussing the event.<\/p>

As a Jewish school, it was especially important for our students to gain a better understanding of Canada\u2019s cultural diversity. This show, along with the recommended resources, provided them with valuable insights, fostering empathy and a greater appreciation for different backgrounds. The knowledge and understanding our students gained empower them to address racism in their communities and environments more effectively.<\/p>

I would highly recommend \u201cShowcasing Black Experiences\u201d to middle school, high school students, and even adults.
